Advanced Level Tutors

Request your free list of AS or A Level tutors by entering your postcode in the Postcode Search Box. Our tutors provide high-quality one-to-one AS Level and A Level tuition in a wide range of subjects including English Maths and Sciences (Biology, Chemistry and Physics). All our A Level tutors offer lessons tailored to the precise needs of the student.

What are A-Levels?

A Levels are usually a progression from GCSE and allow a pupil to specialise more in their preferred subjects. A Levels are usually taken in 3 subjects over two years and studied in Years 12 and 13 at either 6th Form or college for pupils mostly aged 16 to 18.

Do your tutors cover the Scottish Curriculum?

In Scotland our private tutors provide one-to-one support for Highers and Advanced Highers. These are the equivalent to A-levels for students usually aged between 16 and 18. Lessons can be online or at home depending on distance.

When are A-Levels examinations taken?

A Level exams usually take place from the beginning of May until the end of June. Timetables are issued in school or college and are published on the Examination Board websites such as AQA, SQA. A private tutor helps a student prepare for their A Level exams.

When is A-level results day?

A Level Examination results are published in August. In 2024 results day is on Thursday 15 August 2024 for AS and A levels.

An A Level pass is graded A*, A, B, C, D or E.

The UK’s Department for Education and exam regulator Ofqual announced a return to pre-pandemic grading for A Level exams taken from 2023. It was expected that grades awarded would be lower than during the Covid pandemic years and more in line with Pre-pandemic levels.

In Scotland Results Day is Tuesday 6 August 2024.

Tutors for A-Level Exam Resits

For students who are retaking A Level exams to boost their grades, our tutors offer targeted support with exam preparation. As the timeframe is often short, we recommend that you book lessons with your tutor as soon as possible, although many are happy to offer last-minute support if needed.

For students who have longer to prepare for their resit exams, a tutor will help fill in knowledge gaps and put together an effective revision plan. This can help boost confidence which may be low following disappointing results.

A-Level Tutors for Adults

We welcome enquiries from adults who are returning to education and from undergraduates who are looking for help with their university studies.
